Dr. Rosa Maria Trizzino

After graduating in 1980 in Civil Engineering from the Politecnico di Bari (110/110 cum laude), she worked on a research contract basis in the Istituto di Geologia Applicata e Geotecnica of the Politecnico di Bari from 1980 to 1983. In 1983 she joined the Italian National Research Council - "Centro di Studio sulle Risorse Idriche e la Salvaguardia del Territorio" (CNR – Ce.R.I.S.T.) in Bari as a "Researcher" (Ricercatore) .

From 1980 to 1982 she took part in the CNR "Conservazione del Suolo" Project – "Landslide Phenomena" sub-project, and from 1981 to 1985 she worked in the framework of the Operational Units of the GNDT group . Ever since she has carried out her research activity within the framework of many ordinary and particular research projects of the CNR Research Centre .

Since 1985 she has been being a member of the Scientific Commitee of the Ce.R.I.S.T.

Starting from 1990 she supervised the acquisition of GPS (Global Positioning System) instrumentation and since 1995 she has been in charge of the scientific co-ordination of a research Project on "Geomechanical characterization of mass movements in seismic areas and GPS high precision geodetic techniques", that is part of the ordinary research activity of the Ce.R.I.S.T..

She is author of many papers, concerning microstructural aspects of clays, hydraulic modelling of a submarine spring of fresh water, methodological analyses of the effects of 1980 Southern Italy earthquake , computational methods of slope stability analysis in seismic conditions and methodological applications of the GPS satellite method to landslide monitoring.
